Guest feelmychi Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 As the topic name suggests, I'd very much appreciate a copy of the UK 2.1 update, as T-mobile have removed it from their website :D feelmychi

Or very very bad news :D thankeeyoup :D I'm hoping very much that there isn't something horribly wrong with it... On the other hand though, if there is, a free Spica as a replacement would be very welcome ;) I can just update straight from the flb rom right? feelmychi
Guest Simon Taylor Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 This is strange. Why would they remove a perfectly good update? I never had any SMS problems since the update (or before, on 1.5).
Guest Simon O Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 This is strange. Why would they remove a perfectly good update? I never had any SMS problems since the update (or before, on 1.5). If it was perfectly good then they would have no reason to remove it. I'll find out hopefully soon.
Guest Rem1x Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 (edited) I shot them a tweet, they are normally quite quick there. They don't know, but they'll tweet when they know :D Edited August 18, 2010 by Rem1x

It wasn't perfectly good because it didn't work on all them phones that for some reason won't receive sms remember this was not ever a problem on 1.5
Guest rjm2k Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 the december update is back on, I wonder if they've just restored a backup of the website which was taken before 2.1 went on?
Guest -Wii- Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 the december update is back on, I wonder if they've just restored a backup of the website which was taken before 2.1 went on? What is bizare is I send my phone for repair with 1.5 december and they send it back with november on!!!
Guest rjm2k Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 What is bizare is I send my phone for repair with 1.5 december and they send it back with november on!!! did you note the serial no before you sent and check when it came back?
Guest darkdevil1 Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 What is bizare is I send my phone for repair with 1.5 december and they send it back with november on!!! That's the OS it comes with out of the box, so I guess they completely replaced your phone
Guest -Wii- Posted August 18, 2010 Report Posted August 18, 2010 That's the OS it comes with out of the box, so I guess they completely replaced your phone No its the same phone because my cover for the charger is missing still and there ate scratches on the back that i made so I'm fairly sure its the same.

Yes, maybe, but the complete motherboard was possibly replaced. They did it with mine when it stopped charging (and replaced the battery too), so only the screen and dhe box is the original.

It is possible, so far I have not received the SMS issue, however they wrote exactly what they did and did not mention that they replaced the motherboard. only the camera and the ear peice. (even thought they were not faulty) is it possible that the motherboard is attached to these and they are just saving embarrassment?

Mine's in at the moment as it won't install the UK 2.1 (although Dec Update worked fine). Just curious, Ta
Guest themadwacky1 Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 i'm not sure if anyone else notified t-mobile about the possible existence of the sms bug in the 2.1 update that they released, but i did and was told that they would let the testing team know and get back to me. it may have been this that led them to take off the official 2.1 update!!! hopefully they can sort it out! it's not too much of a problem, but just the uncertainty of not knowing whether a message had been not been received is annoying, and the fact that it happens without you knowing is also frustrating too.
Guest Rem1x Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 http://twitter.com/TmobileUKfail These guys followed me off the back of asking about the 2.1 update. Go figure :D

Just curious, Ta It wasn't recognising the SD Card. So far I haven't got the SMS problem on official 2.1 now why that is I don't know... They said they did a "software upgrade" it came back with november update on very odd but it does work now... so I am a bit confused to be honest with you

Guest -Wii- Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Try getting down to approx 15MB free and get someone to send you a text. What is the best way to mash my memory up? I will do that and then try and get someone to send me a text to see if it comes through. I have also decided to just leave the standard messaging app giving notifications and hancent using pop up, the pop up seems to override and notify even if the standard doesn't... interesting

Remove any applications that keep running even if you close them. My phone has, on average, 25MB free memory. The lowest I've seen it go is 19/20MB and max has been 29MB. Currently I have 26,840K (about 26MB) free. I use OSMonitor to check (as suggested by Paul. It has the ability to kill processes also!)

Instant force-close of every service! And you won't be able to get a call through either. (If you don't reboot every day or so then the phone really suffers)
Guest TheBigAK Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I replicated the SMS dropped bug easily last night by letting my girlfriend play Bistro Cook on my Pulse and then used her iPhone to send 2 SMS to my Pulse. The first one got through and the second one never arrived. I even task killed every other process before running Bistro Cook, and that game is not even that large!
Guest Gisky Posted August 20, 2010 Report Posted August 20, 2010 Anyone heard why it was pulled yet? I asked them too but no response.
