Guest zjun Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I am on TMobile USA, anyone else experience this? I only get 22kbps according to mobilespeedtest.com
Guest Delnar_Ersike Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Most likely your coverage in that area is spotty. I don't use APN, but nobody's complained so far about a bad radio, so it's probably just T-Mobile USA.
Guest jayziac Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 Tmobile USA doesn't have 3G frequencies that the Liquid supports, so you're stuck at EDGE speeds. AT&T has compatible 3G frequencies though.
Guest Lutris Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 (edited) I'm on t-mobile as well. I checked my speed by http://i.dslr.net/tinyspeedtest.html both inside and outside the giant metal box that is my office: Inside, -93dB: 34kbps, latency mostly 1.0-1.4 seconds, with some variance out to 0.4-1.8 Outside, -71dB: 131kbps, latency 0.3-0.8 seconds, one outlier at 1.7 20dB really makes a difference. It's worth noting that inside my office is still considered 3 bars, sometimes less; '4 bars' encompasses a wide range of signal strengths. I'd be curious to know what your signal strength is like in dB, you may just be far from the towers. The rom I'm using can show this next to the 4-bar indicator, else I'm sure there are apps and widgets for showing this. I'm using baseband A1-04.02.02 and Xian LiquidF v1, on the off chance that makes any difference. Edit: Go figure, I tried this again inside with a 'death grip' around the antenna. The results were better than the free-standing inside test. Either the speed test isn't very consistent, or the cell towers aren't. :D Inside, palm around antenna, -101dB: 65kbps, latency 0.4-0.8 seconds, one outlier at 2.4 (once again the first measure, suspicious) Edited August 19, 2010 by Lutris
Guest zjun Posted August 19, 2010 Report Posted August 19, 2010 I just tested it outside and got 122kbps, I guess this should be normal. How do you do the death grip?
