Guest digthemlows Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 My US Dell Streak lasted one day before it froze. I could sometimes get it running by restarting, pulling the battery, or other things, but after 6 hours of messing with it on and off I called Dell. The rep had me factory reset by pressing and holding volume up and down while powering on.......still nothing, just a "grey" screen. He put me on hold for 2 minutes and came back saying they are sending a new phone. I have to ship my old phone back in the box that the new one comes in. They shipped it right away. I'm not happy about getting a bad phone, but Dell was very quick and courteous on the phone and is making it right.
Guest Dogmann55 Posted August 21, 2010 Report Posted August 21, 2010 Hi digthemlows Yeah they are great if your within your first 28 days after that it not quite as good as they will arrange for collection of your unit within 48hrs and then send it back once repaired or a new unit if it can't be. For me on a two month old Streak it took 9 days to just to be collected by UPS and then up to another 10 days before i will get it back so i have bought a Galaxy S and will most probably sell the Streak when it eventually comes back. As for the reps most i have spoken to are very helpful the same can't be said for the managers as not one has phoned me back when they said they would personally I've had it with Dell and will choose other options for my devices from now on. Marc Got off the phone today and was told that they may actually be on backorder........said the status was "in production" which is interesting, means they may have sold more that I though. That's good in one way, means they'll keep upgrading and giving support.........we'll see.
