Swiftkey Crashes

I remember being recommended Swiftkey as a good alternative keyboard and the first time I installed it it worked well. For about 5 minutes. Suddenly when I went to type something it would never pop up. No matter how many times I've reinstalled it or even changed roms (eclair, froyo, many different ones) it continues to refuse to pop up the keyboard. Any ideas? Some kind of cache I need to clear that's continuing to mess with it?
