Guest redroom Posted August 24, 2010 Report Posted August 24, 2010 HTC Sync v3.0 is now available for desire. http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9313017/setup_3.0.5422.exe I can install everything. The drivers recognize my Desire but the program doesn't. My phone also says I'm connected to sync. Anyone know what's up with that? I got R8 as Rom.

Just checked HTC web support and there is only HTC Sync 2.0.33 available for desire. HTC Sync 3.0 - New Feature Highlight: Media Sync. HTC is delighted to present our newest version of HTC Sync. Now packed with new features, this version features a media sync that is compatible with popular media players available on your PC. You can bring your favorite tunes, playlists, pictures and more to your phone with the click of a button. To enable this function, please install the newest HTC Sync for your phone. You can download this program from the downloads section of the HTC website. We recommend that you temporarily disable your virus scanner and firewall programs while installing. Then using the provided USB Cable, simply plug your phone into your computer. On your phone you may have to select the option for HTC Sync. Once connected, HTC Sync should start automatically. If you have disabled this or it does not pop up, simply go to the start menu and start it manually. Once the application has opened, you will see a picture of your device on the left, and on the right of that image, a list of options for you to sync to your phone. Select Music. Once you have highlighted Music, you can choose to sync a specific folder of music you already have organized, or you can select to sync playlists from popular media players. Currently HTC Sync has only been released for HTC Wildfire, however HTC Sync will be updated to fully support other HTC phones very soon. Note: This version of HTC Sync is only compatible with Android 2.1 and later. Edited August 24, 2010 by miguelsanchez79

For best HTC Sync performance on your PC/ NB, we suggest you uninstall all previous versions of HTC Sync 2.0 before upgrading to HTC Sync 3.0 and above. HTC Sync 3.0 is only compatible with HTC Hero (Android 2.1) , HTC Legend, HTC Desire, HTC Wildfire, HTC Aria. If you are you also using other phones, we suggest you keep two versions in you PC/ NB for sync two different Android Platfrom phones.

The reason I couldnt download latest version is that I clicked on desire model and could only download HTC Sync 2.0 there but if you go here: http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNews.asp...amp;news_id=757 you can get 3.0. HTC website is a bit confusing.

Anyone know what's up with that? I got R8 as Rom. I've noticed with mine that sync only works if my desire is in the same usb slot as it was when I installed all the drivers Maybe you've got the same thing?
