Hi I just got my streak of these characteristics:

1.6

build 4399 oem GAUSB1A110700-EU

unlock Sim Free

but I did not understand if I upgrade to 2.1 and if there are any known issues. thank you in advance for your help !!!!

yes people have been having issues.. the 2.1 version appears to be a BETA version with some bugs.

I would advise you to wait till you receive an OTA

is ok but I did not understand if you've upgraded this type of device, some bugs are certainly present but are of little bugs

Its always a good idea to have a look around the forums, especially ones with titles like "2.1 bugs" and "ZOMG I"VE DESTROYED MY PHONE11".

plus more than thinking of what features you might get, its best to start with how to perform a nandroid backup just in case it fails.

i was pissed about 2.1 as well, for me reverting to 4399 then 3883 was all a waste of time.

so back it went.

Ho aggiornato io da quella versione, avevo la 3883, passato alla 4339 e d aggiornato e rootato a 2.1. E' andato tutto liscio al primo colpo.

Il mio era un unlocked O2....e presumo anche il tuo quindi puoi stare tranquillo.

o2 said 5-7 days for it to return. mine wouldnt even read the sd card it would ask me to format it everytime i booted up.

and as for working mostly in wifi mode but not physically booting with a sim in made me question its and my sanity!

im not talking 2.1 here I only ran that for afew days, my issues were with 4399 and 3883 before I had even tried 2.1

I had already been to o2 and was told it was software! so I tried seeing if 2.1 fixed it but it was still rebooting. sometimes it would restart before even loading the homescreen this remained the same when i downgraded to 3883. I could take out the sim and use it for minutes rather than seconds but it would still reboot.

sure miss the lil b*****d!

Have to say,

When i upgraded to 2.1 i have never looked back

It runs smooth, it looks gorgeous with the live wallpapers & the battery life is much better the only little bug i have is that it doesn't go into sleep when u lock the phone on occassions.

Also was dissapointed that flash still doesn't work. Roll on 2.2!

It's ridiculous, isn't it? No matter what it throws at us we keep coming back for more. My dad laughed at me for getting a 1st gen device and I'm pretty sure he's right to but the potential for this thing when it works properly is amazing.

I had a big crash last night and now my sim won't work in it at all - no registering with my iPhone, none of it. I'm desperate to return it to this 4339 firmware just so's I can either start from scratch or, more likely, return it to Dell, but without network access I've been stymied.

I'm at the London office now and there's a new wireless network so fingers crossed I can get it running, download and install. The saga continues...
