Anybody know if the UK or US version will work with the rogers network in Canada? In 3G mode?

Not sure if I can wait any longer for Dell to release unlocked version?

Thanks.

Hey.

I foolishly bought a O2 (UK) Dell streak to use on Fido.

I just sold it, as you cannot get 3G data in Canada with the bands used in the UK.

I am now awaiting a US version, and a Rebel Sim running V. 1.2 firmware.

From all of my research, it should run flawlessly in 3G.

I'm sure others will confirm, but I will test it out and post my results as soon as I get it up and running.

If you can, get a US AT&T Beta Test Unit as they are unlocked and work perfectly fine on Roger's in 3G. Actually, I get HSDPA mode show up on Roger's with the 2.1 firmware. If you get a locked AT&T unit then you will need a Rebel Sim Card v.1.2 as Spike8585 listed.

You can also get a US ATT version and supposedly unlock it from some of the unlocker sites. If I get time tomorrow i'll also call ATT and try to get an unlock code for mine on the basis I'm traveling out of the country, just to see if it works.

I wouldn't trust the Rebel Sim if I were you. RS1 was inconsistent and had too many problems. I'm guessing RS2 will have some problems too. If you really can't wait... do what my buddy did, order from Ebay. Those Beta units are going cheap on Ebay since AT&T is still locking them out over there. Downside is, you're at the mercy of the seller with regards to it being an actual AT&T Beta unit and not a TMobile version.

That may be a LONG time. It took a long time to get the iphone, and that is far more popular.

Read the threads on the rebel sim. It seems like the new firmware is working fine.

As for unlock codes, I saw one person post that they tried a site that said they could do it for a few bucks, and then they charged 30 and didn't get the codes.

So, I have one of the US beta versions and I am sick of dealing with ATT with this lockout. If any of you are interested, maybe we could work out a deal? You buy a US version...keep the new battery, battery cover and all the accessories ..and swap me for my core unit? Its in great shape BTW... PM me if your really interested and checkout my Ebay feedback "sgeorge1970".

BTW..I did test it with a TMO sim to verify that is is indeed unlocked. Not sure about the Rogers 3G but it sounds like it would work fine.

I am in Austin, TX and I have an unlocked beta Streak from running the Congress Ave Mile race - I was a beta tester and fell in love with the phone. Unfortunately, I have been locked out by AT&T three times, have filed an FCC complaint, have spent a ridiculous amount of time looking at these forums and talking to Dell and AT&T on the phone - I'm about to throw in the towel. I am under contract with AT&T, so I don't really have the option of going to T-Mob unless I want to pay early cancellation fees.

I'd be willing to sell my unlocked device (it is in great condition and I still have the original box with all contents), so that I could buy a new AT&T locked phone from Dell.

PM me if interested.

I've got one for sale as well. As new condition running 2.1. Would love to get rid of it in order to buy a locked ATT one. PM if interested.

So far I'm having a hard time finding a car charger that will work for my Streak...

word of warning though, I brought my Streak to US just as a SatNav and it didn't work solely to Satellite. Seems like it needed to connect to wireless networks too. Maybe I just needed to play with settings more but f you figure it out let me know.
