getting rid of Samsung interface

I am tired of my B7610.

it is slow & unresponsive (main problem).

the Samsung interface is nice, but it doesn't display useful info like the time of missed calls if it was yesterday or the time of SMS reception.

and there are a collection of minor annoyances, such as

input by keyboard is not as smooth as it should be (phone asks if it should add word "xyz" to the message - I found no way to turn that off)

so... can the phone be returned to "classic" WinMo 6.5 state?

Off course you can have your B7610 exactly as you like. There are so many UI for our device, both free and paid, that you would not know what to choose. You can get rid of the samy UIs (life and work) by unchecking today items. You are on winmo 6.5+ right?. Most effective is to install a custom ROM, clean of Samsung rubbish. In any case, all the info is in Modaco, take a seat and search thoroughly.

<Samsung Settings><System><Input Method><Word Completion> uncheck "Suggest words...". Me, I do not use XT9 either (with spell correction and auto substitution), because qwerty is much faster.

<Samsung Settings><Display and Light><Items on Today> check "Windows Default" only. This is the classic winmo 6.5 interface, often called Titanium.

the word completion was already turned off, but it is still asking me if I want to add the word XYZ to the message - not always, though.

and the messaging interface is very very slow.

I also don't like slow SMS interface from Samsung. Open SMS with Email icon and you will have default interface from MS.

And you must also edit registry, because if you click on SMS mesage in MS aplication, than will be open Samsung application again. It stop this problem:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\MsgTypes\IPM\SMStext\DLL\ rewrite "mms.dll" to "htmlnote.dll".

Keyboard problem. I don't know... Try experiment ROMs from Daskalos. They are really clean and smoothly.

after trying many roms, finally i am using Exp 37 as the best choice because the speed and performance is what exactly i am looking for.

after testing many UIs, finally i am using MS basic UI since WM5 or even earlier, becasue it is the fastest and good enough to use.

after installing many start menu apps, finally i am using MainMenu.exe, because it organizes shortcuts in the best and smoothest way.

after installing many lockscreen apps, finally i am using S2U2, because it displays all useful info even in locked screen.

but pls do use samsung power calculator to replace winmo default one because this is the only samsung apps which runs faster than winmo original.

Now I feel my B7610 is almost 99% perfect!

Yes. Same here. Otherwise I using Omnia 2, but problems with Samsung applications are same. Finally I'm using classic Today with SPB Pocket Plus and some others plugins. It the fastest solution. And yes, you have right  only this Samsung calculator are usable.
