i was finding i didn't have enough time to get my phone out of my pocket and answer it on my current setting, and couldn't find anything in android call settings, so went hunting for a solution.

this seems to work, i'm on vodafone and I got a message back instantly saying "registration successful"

**61*+mailboxnumber*11*delay#

vodafone UK vm is 121 so i used **61*+121*11*30# then pressed dial

30 seconds is the maximum as defined in the GSM specs, so applies to all networks.

You can also use the standard GSM code to set delay before voicemail...

**61*+mailboxnumber*11*delay#

The delay is in 5 second increments, max 30 seconds.

That's great, thanks.

You're right, doesn't need the + in there. If you want to check the delay beforehand, use *#61# [dial] and it sends back a confirmation with your current settings.
