So with the samsung galaxy tab coming out next month and with us loving the big android screen, who will be swapping their streak for a tab or is it too big ? I,ll definitely be getting one if it has phone capabilities, your thoughts please folks.

What for? So I can start carrying around a “man bag“ like the fanboi‘s do?

Nope, I got enough worries about screen breakage and snatch and dashes with this bit of kit.

And it fits in my front pocket. ;)

yeah, i think 7" is getting too large to practically hold to your ear, and it's not likely to fit into a front trouser pocket. i haven't seen any mention of it having GPS either.

for a "large" pocketable portable device, Dell have got it right (and i'm looking forward to the progression of technology, already imagining a Streak with AMOLED and screen expanded to replace the bezel :-P )

of the smartphones i've had (iPhone 3G, Nexus One, Galaxy S) the Streak is by far the most audible too, which i like.

Is the tab a phone as well? Its thicker than the streak as well. Streak is on the limit of size to carry in a pocket.

Hi all,

Well since it took 9 days for my Streak to be collected by UPS for Dell and up to 10 days for its return i bought a Galaxy S as believe it or not i can't be without a main device for weeks i love the Streak and it's 25% larger screen @5" makes more difference then just looking at specs suggests also as great as the Galaxy S screen is i really wouldn't say its better then the Streaks in fact i am waiting to compare them side to side but actually think the Streaks screen is better especially in outdoor bright sunlight conditions. I'm looking forward for my Streaks return and for now have decided the Galaxy S and Streak are going to be the best combination of devices for me not sure i really want or need a larger sized tablet /slate then the Streak offers.

7" is too big, that's getting into ipad land. I want a pocket sized phone that's a mini tablet, oh wait, I have one already and it's called the streak! Once we get froyo this thing will kick more butt than it already does.

I happy as can be with my Streak. I might consider a 10" Android device when one I think is cool comes out but it would replace my laptop, not my Streak.

Try telling my wife this...............

Does she carry it around in a man bag?

Or perhaps it's her man bag that carries it around for her...

The Tab may have a phone, but it does not have a Headphone, so it is BlueTooth headset only.

There is no comparison to our Streaks

It does though.

Despite their labeling being the same, in reality they appear quite different, due to the size. So streak if you want a phone everyday, or the tab if you don't intend to use it as a phone.

It doesn't have an front earpiece for conversations like a normal phone, so in that respect is a long way behind the Streak. That means it's like the HTC Advantage, where you either have to use it in loudspeaker mode (and annoy everyone else in the room), or use a wired or Bluetooth headset for privacy. Which is a long way from the "full phone" functionality that some review sites are claiming.
