Guest BigBearMDC Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Hi guys, something weird is happening to me atm. I don't know when exactly it happened, but I'm not able to get root rights anymore. Superuser shows the privileged applications, but everytime I'm trying to run them they crash. Even su in the terminal emulator returns permission denied, and Superuser does not even ask anymore if an application should get root rights. It does not really matter to me - I'm going to flash a new ROM anyway. I just thought of sharing, because I'm using the same ROM (I did not even yet reflash it) since it came out, and this might maybe be a problem too with newer releases if you run them long enough. My Pulse getting sluggish and it mucks around from time to time (like Windows does after a few weeks/months) also. So did this happen to anybody else too? Best regards, BB

Best regards, BB This problem has been reported way before  after restoring nandroid backup with amon-ra, the permissions are not backed up. Clockwork fixes this for me.
Guest BigBearMDC Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 This problem has been reported way before ;) after restoring nandroid backup with amon-ra, the permissions are not backed up. Clockwork fixes this for me. That's weird. I could swear I restored backups before without loosing permissions
Guest Fusion0306 Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 (edited) That's weird. I could swear I restored backups before without loosing permissions  Like I said, the problem dissapeared when I started using clockwork ;) But if you want to fix this, you can flash the new wersion of superuser, it's been mentioned (and uploaded), but I'm not sure where. If you want, I can upload it for you :( Edited August 25, 2010 by Fusion0306
Guest MaToNeo Posted August 25, 2010 Report Posted August 25, 2010 Yeah, I have the same experience - last when I flash Community Custom ROM based on T-Mobile UK 2.1 ROM r2a, although not after flash immediately but after first reboot. Previously I encountered this issue after nadroid restore too (ver. FLB 1.2).

Best regards, BB chmod 4755 /system/xbin/su or chmod 4755 /system/bin/su (can't remember where I put it). Known issue with Nandroid not restoring permissions.
