unable to start wifi

Hi,

Just bought an HTC desire since one week. Yesterday night i connected to my home wireless network When connected i got a message for upgrading my phone.The update went smooth without any probem, once the update was done it started up fine, only thing i noticed was the Wifi didnt work, In Setting > Wireless & network, it say “unable to start Wi-Fi” under Wi-Fi. Firmware version; 2.1-update1 Software number; 1.21.405.2 I also noticed that under wifi Mac address it says unavailable whereas previously there was a mac address. I have contacted HTC they told me to do a factory reset. I did this but still the same problem.Any Help how to fix this?
