Guest Arty Marty Posted August 26, 2010 Report Posted August 26, 2010 A friend of mine has just purchased a HTC Desire in Australia from Telstra. I gave him specific instruction to NOT do any OTA updates.. He didnt... However, Telstra (or HTC) are now shipping new phones with the .83 bootloader.. Even though they don't even have android 2.2 yet... What a pain in the ass... is there any way to root this yet?? sad faces all round when I told him I cant root it. I understand there are ways to roll back the bootloader, but I think it has to be rooted before hand? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Its a great phone, but with only 512mb internal RAM, and no APS2SD+ you can only load a few apps on it... (and I cant put Paul's ROM on it either!) Help! Warmly, Marty
