Hi guys,

I've just rooted the AMOLED HTC Desire (Branded, Simlocked, Orange FR) with the following version:

- HBOOT: 0.75

- Radio : 32.30.00.28U_4.05.00.11

- Firmware version : 1.15

So i have few questions:

- Do i need to update radio to use with froyo ?

- Which radio should i use to remove simlock ?

- Is there any combination of radio + hboot would brick my Desire ?

- Any suggestion on cooked froyo i should use ?

Thank you very much

@EddyOS:

1. But my phone is still simlocked to Orange FR. If i update the radio, will it be network locked as someone said? I'm a fraid of that.

2. Is there anyway to backup and restore radio ?

1. People have said that on Orange UK they've NOT been SIM locked using that radio - but use with caution...

2. You can't back up the radio but you can re-download it should you need it HERE

I've just updated radio to the newest, but the download speed seems never reach 0.5mbps, uplad is 1.6 mbps.I tried with iphone 4 (with the same sim card),it can reach 4mbps for download and 2mbps upload easily. Any idea ?

No, WIFI is ok. I mean HSDPA, With the same sim card, iPhone 4 download speed can read 7-8Mbps, but my Desire can't get over 0.5Mbps for download, but upload is about 1.6Mbps (I see "H" indicator near signal bar as well). Very slow. I don't know why.

I used a tool from speedtest.net, and the cooked rom is Ledroid 1.9a, radio is 30.44.xxxx (the newest one)

iPhone 4 uses a mini-SIM which doesn't fit in the Desire...and the latest radio is 32.44.00.32U_5.09.05.30_2

I have a microsim adapter to test. Anyway, i doubt that is the problem of ROM (Which could not be able to active HSDPA category 8) rather than radio.
