Google Maps won't connect with 3G network

I have a HTC Hero with MoDaCo custom rom r5 and my google maps aren't connecting properly with my 3G network.

In other words I can't search for roads, streets, etc with my 3G network but it works with WiFi.

Can anyone help me out?
