Don't know why I was so worried

I finally 'grew a pair' and debranded and flashed to 2.2 all went well and I can confirm that the latest radio did not cause my phone to lock (although I was expecting to have to buy an unlock code).

The Wi-Fi and GPRS are faster I am seeing the 3g now replaced by H as soon as I start downloading which it never did before.

All in all I am a very happy chap just wish I had not put it off for so long.
