Seen as you pay for the insurance and it's physical damage not a software issue I doubt they will care but obv don't know for sure.

P.s. Out of interest which bank is it with? Lloyds?

Bank is Smile.

Hmm, i might do a nandroid backup and restore a 2.1 build, but i dont want them putting 2.2 with the 0.92 boot on it, its a pain to remove so i hear.

Hi

I followed the guide at this link, it details everything you need and has video hows as well, which are good to watch as a visual to the written guides.

I was on an OTA 2.2, bootloader upgraded to 0.92 and have managed to downgrade to 0.80 and then root and update to 2.2 as per the guide I flash using the unrevoked method decribed. Also my HTC Desire has an AMOLED screen.

I have flashed a few MoDaCo custom R8 ROMs and not had any problems.

Also a very good question and asnwer section at this link on XDA.

I am far from an expert in this, I read and learn alot from the forums.

Hope this helps.

Was on 2.2 hboot 0.92 rooted without any problems, on SLCD using http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=750852 although unrevoked3 under windows 7 x64 didn't work, booting off the ubnutu cd using a virtual installation and using the linux verson of unrevoked worked flawlessly.
