and just like the last version, we don't have enough RAM to run it.

what a useless topic.

I tried it and looks great. Too laggy for our phones and after 2 pages it closes due to low memory.

I guess we won't go any further with our pulses without swap.

Stock browser in 2.1 seems to have regressed (mainly, the zoom-rectangle is missing), so I switched to Dolphin. Very happy with it. One reviewer said it was what you should use until Firefox appears on our phones.

Fennec is huuuuge and I don't understand why. Nearly 30mb installed. It better be doing something miraculous (although if it is I can't see it). Even on an N1 it was running a little slow, I'm not letting it near my pulse.

couldn't really get into dolphin - found opera much quicker and easier to use .

Is fennec 2.1-2.2 only? I tried to find it on the X10 (running 1.6) earlier but the market wasn't showing anything.

Not on market, also yes.

Seriously, xscope is the fastest most featured browser there is for android and works fast on pulse too. Even better than dolphin. Shame about fennec.

This has got me interested.

I'm currently using Opera Mini beta but to say it's buggy would be a massive understatement.

Imma give XScope another go

Whilst every other browser just piggybacks on the Webkit Webview (with additions and optimizations), Fennec is the rendering engine of Mozilla Firefox - ie it's not just some code + preinstalled code, it's a full rendering engine. That's why it's slower - it's an alpha version that is an impressive bit of kit. If you want a typical car analogy, Dolphin is taking a car and making it faster, more comfortable and easier to use. Fennec is making a car from scratch - whole new difficulty level.

Opera mini has been out of beta for some time. Check the market.
