T-Mobile pulse finger lock problem

Guys,

I was trying to update my phone to the official 2.1 rom. But the phone wont go passed the finger unlock screen, the one wheer you join the dots. Problem is touchscreen is now unresponsive and I haven't got a clue how to put the pattern in. I have a bad feeling I have screwed my phone up is there anything I can do or any method of puting the pattern in w/o touchscreen so I can complete the update.

Any help would be really appreciated.

1. Just apply the timemachine patch
   
2. Install the original 1.5 update again
   
3. Enter the unlock pattern
   
4. Deactivate unlock pattern
   
5. Reflash 2.1 update
   
6. Enjoy Eclair :huh:

Thanks for the reply what is the time machine patch and will I be able to do it w/o touchscreen as its not working at the moment ?

Sure. You install it like a normal /dload update (with an UPDATA.APP file).

I have did this, and some sort of update went through. It says phone restarting but seems to stick here. Is this normal does it take a while?

I think that when it says 'phone restarting' you have to, quoting Huawei:

remove battery one second ,then power on ,waiting till the os start up

And then go back to Android 1.5.

Mate you are a genius you have well and truly saved my bacon. I cannot thank you enough, I did the time machine thing then updated straight to 2.1 in error but it worked a treat and actually removed the lock all together. Just a pity it doesnt remove the simlock so I can change provider, that would be truly remarkable. btw Like what I see on 2.1 so far.

I'm glad you solved your problem.

You'd need to unlock your Pulse separately if you want to put another SIM into it.
