Guest Ximo F. Verde Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) Ok heres the story. I was running on stock 1.100.09 GEN1 and i decided to flash Xian v.1 Cyanogenmod. I did so and also flash the GPS-USB fix that is on the same page. Then, since i had problems accesing the market, I used the acer download tool to flash the newest 2.100.07.EMEA.GEN1 ROM. When i connected the phone on the PC, i got a couple of 'New Hrdware Wizard' messages, as if some hardware was not recognised on the PC, even though i had the acer drivers installed from previous flashings (maybe it was the drivers included in the ACER installers because the l1.100.09 ROM was flashed using the acer installer straight as it was from the website. I connected the phone to the PC and it said that the phone was connected so i started flashing. After the 'DSP1' step was completed, the flashing progress stopped at the point the the 'information ' box says 'Change mode, please wait. Download mode => OS download mode' And 'Device 01' is now 'Not conected..' and it stoped there!! Dont know what to do, I dont dare touching the phone or unplugging it, please, if anyone has any suggestion it would be greatly appreciated if ud share it. Please help me unbrick my liquid... Thanx in advance people.... Edit1: Just to clarify, the phone never got to the point that i get to see some text on its screen.. If this is any help to anyone... Edit2: Started to flash with 70%, which i believe is suffiecient Edited September 1, 2010 by Ximo F. Verde
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 How long has the process been running? The area where it says "DO NOT UNPLUG USB", what does that say?
Guest Ximo F. Verde Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 How long has the process been running? The area where it says "DO NOT UNPLUG USB", what does that say? Its been about an hour and a half now.. It says Processing - Do Not Remove Usb Cable

Guest Master_T Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Tried it, no result. The phone looks dead.. oh god the trouble im puting myself into.. Don't panic, there's always a way to recover it, no matter what. The first thing to try is booting into recovery mode, to do that: 1-unplug battery, wait 10 seconds, reinsert battery 2-Hold Volume Up + Camera button and then press Power button, you should feel 2 quick vibrations if you did it right 3-The phone should boot into recovery mode. From there it should be recognized by the acer tool and you should be able to re-flash. If you can't boot into recovery, boot into the bootloader (same process as point one above, but use the Volume Down button instead of the Volume Up one) and form that: 1-Flash malez recovery (http://code.google.com/p/acer-liquid-malez-recovery/wiki/howToInstall) 2-Boot into recovery (as explained earlier) 3-Re-Flash with acer tool

The 1 case didnt work, after tried the 2nd it booted up into malez recovery (it was installed before in order to flash Xian v.1). But i didnt understand what is the next step. While in recovery i connect again to the PC? Do i have to restart the Acer DT and start flashin from the beginning? Thanx again
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 The fact that you can get into recovery is great! Yes you can flash from reco. Good luck.

Thanx for the hint, how exactly do i flash from recover (sorry to annoyingly instisting for details, i dont want to mess up again)? Guest Cretu Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 (edited) While you are in recovery mode, you should be able to flash the new imagen using the Acer Installer (the one coming with the image as an EXE), following the instructions like a normal flash, or you can use the Acer Download Tools, using a BIN. In the second case, just connect the phone to the USB and proceed flashing by just selecting the BIN image and pressing the Start button. Edited August 31, 2010 by Cretu
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Good idea Certu! Yeah, download the .exe file and flash it like you did 1.100.09- http://global-download.acer.com/GDFiles/OS...&SC=EMEA_17

Guest Ximo F. Verde Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Ok, all worked just booted on the new stock ROM, and will give it another try for Xian's, lets hope now that everything will go ok. I will have to install malez recovery again now, isnt it?
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Yup. The reflashing of stock rom installed stock recovery and also unrooted the phone.
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Glad to see you are back up and running  Out of curiosity, did you install 2.100.07 or 1.100.09?
Guest HustlinDaily Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 BTW, it is possible that your Market problems are Google related- http://android.modaco.com/content-page/316...-gen1/page/80/# Malez also had this problem on Eclair and it worked after he retried several times. And this post I linked to had it fail on Xian/Koud and it worked several hours later.

Guest Cretu Posted August 31, 2010 Report Posted August 31, 2010 Don't be so afraid man. Our Liquid have some flaws, but getting permanently bricked easily is not one of them...
Guest Ximo F. Verde Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Don't be so afraid man. Our Liquid have some flaws, but getting permanently bricked easily is not one of them... Youre right mate.. I did panic only because i stayed away from custom ROMs for a long time for safety reasons (if u dont understand something completely better not touch it) and when i finally felt well-informed on what i had to do and tried it, i sort of messed up.. Anyway thanx to everybody that helped, u guys rock! (and make this community thrive)
Guest linys Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 Hello i though i could borrow your thread, When i flashed it stuck and now i cant go in to recovery mode. When i press Vol + camera and power the phone vibrate 2 times but nothing else happends. And when i just press power it says: USB fastboot v1.10.00 HW versin v.04 Machine *(lots of numbers) Build date 17 aug 2010 Serial number ****************** Usb_init The Acer tool finds the phone but its Connected AMSS and when i start flashing the tool tells me ERROR "Please choose valid comport" [in reconnect] Any ideas???
Guest HustlinDaily Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 That is not recovery mode, that is fastboot/bootloader. Try a different USB port
