can't downgrade to 1.6

Hey guys I can't flash to 1.6 using stock recovery. I'm getting an error about 1/2 way through that says "system is already up to date". What do I do? I'm trying to downgrade to 1.6 and then upgrade to the new 2.1 build.

You need to flash the 1.6 stock recovery then update, I had to do the same when I was coming back from the new 2.1 build back to the old one.

Can you tell me how to do this, I have the 1.6 ROM on my sd card, done everything other ppl have said but still can't get it to update back to 1.6 (get's half way through update and says the phone is up to date, stops and reboots in 2.1.

Simple 'for us thick streak user's' language please ;)

Need to get back to 1.6 as this 2.1 is to unstable and the flashing keys issue and facebook sync issue is doing my head in :huh:

Guys im in the same s@*t pit

i just havent got a clue how to go back to the factory installed 1.6, begining to wish i hadnt even tried to get in on the 2.1 action early!

im a complete novice at this have no idea how i managed the upgrade but going back is a night mare!

can someone please post step by step instructions? together with the bits and bobs i need to do it?

everything i have tried thus far results in the old "your phone is up to date and boot6s into the glitch box 2.1 again!

as ive said im a complete novice so any help would be appreciated!

I think you will need the original recovery. What you need is someone to post original recovery file so you use the 'flash_recovery' comand from termnal emulator on streak. Then rest will be straight forward. I think fards has the install-recovery.sh for 2.1, not sure about 1.6., and him postin it is a differnt thing altogether. Depends if he reads this
