Guest Stevos Posted September 1, 2010 Report Posted September 1, 2010 hi all ud it he rediculous to assume that the music player from the sony ericsson experia would work on pulse if i got it apk? i figured that due to them both being android it would be compattible(dunno how to spell it ) or would there be hardware complications? thanks It might be possible, you'd have to give it a try to find out. Potential complications I could imagine: * If they somehow used proprietary APIs specific to SE they would not work on other phones. * Even if it doesn't use proprietary APIs it might be otherwise linked into the ROM on the SE rather than an APK which could make extracting it in a portable form difficult. The only obvious reason for this would be to deter piracy. * Given it's basically coded for only one phone, it may be hardcoded to use the SE screen resolution / aspect, or even if it's independent, the interface might not work well on a smaller screen if it's busy with design elements (I don't know the app) * SE would probably take a dim view of this, as it almost certainly isn't licensed to be distributed or run on other hardware. If you have the APK, give it a try, or there are some decent music apps knocking around the market.
