rebel sim not working

hi all..my ebay seller has supplied me with rebel sim card...however i am not able to get the network using it..i mean when i insert it in streak it boots up normally-unlike network locked screen without rebel..however its shows no sim ..when i go to settings and search for networks it does shows vodafone and couple of other networks ..but gives error after half a minute....ur sim is not for this network ..sumthing like that...am i doing right ...this rebel sim has big black dot in one corner and not in center..i tried inserting both ways that is dot facing simcard and dot facing down...no luck..any clue or rebel sim doesnot work in my country ie. india..shuld i get rebel sim 2 ...

OOPS JUST FIND OUT THAT ITS TURBO SIM AND NOT REBEL SIM I BEILVE..ITS GOT NO CIRSUIT IN IT..JUST A BLACK DOT IN CORNER

You need to buy the RebelSim II with version 1.2 firmware on it.

The RebelSim you have is for another phone. I think I saw the iPhone ones that have the chip (the 'black dot') on the side rather than the upper middle.

Check out their site, and see if they have any local distributors. If not, it is only 7 British pounds to buy a new one.

hi spike ....just went ahead and bought one from ebay.uk..cost me 19 pounds ...no distributor in india ..i hope it really works with streak ..like plug n play...i have upgraded to 2.1 ..will rebel sim work with it...

Yes! Mine still has the odd crash, more than a usuall phone, but even with that its still great!

I have a rebel sim for sale if any of your friends have a streak!

hi all. I think u bought from the same seller as me dherpat. I too got the same turbo sim. I ordered the rebel sim from the official site today. Hope all goes well :huh:

well we indians as such do not prefer such large phones u see stil stuck on nokias and samsung for general public...since touchscreen phones are less prefered...let alone andorid , windows...

still rememeber the time some 6 years back when we had nokia ruling, motorola's ,samsung were new entrant..no touch screenphones then

would not be surprised if i am the only one in my city of over a milion population who has this phone right now...no guesses if any one have even heard of it..

thats why i am dying to get this phone up so that i can flaunt it around...would love to see the reactions of people around :huh:

one more thing i have already cut my sim card..top portion completely,,,will that do with rebel sim or will have to get the phone sim replaced..can see only hole being punched in sim card.

Kya baat hai bada khush ho raha hai :huh: I went to a place in mumbai here .... d whole bldg is only for mobile repairz n resale....no one knew d device i was holding was a phone ;)

I have also cut my top bit completely off, it makes it easier to get in. You just slide the rebel in completely first, then slide the cut sim card in ontop of it rather than cutting a hole in the sim lining them up and putting them both in together

The new version works well, ive used it for a week or so now 24/7 and no problems to report other than I had to put my sim in another 3g phone and see 3g on display of that phone for it to work.

arey yaar..e bay wale pankaj ne jo turbo sim bheja hai wo chal nahi raha....rebel sim 2 ebay se manwaya hai..dekhe kya hota hai...yaar ye streak ka screen itna faded kyo hai..colors unsaturated. sala video dekhne ka maja hi nahi ata...tera bhi same?

I have also bought it from pankaj. The turbo sim works with my vodafone card in mumbai. One thing you need to ensure is that you never get out of network coverage for example in elevators, basements etc. If you do that then you need to refresh the vodafone network settings one the sim card. For this you will have to put it in another phone, go to network, select manual, select a network other than your home network, it will be rejected. Once this happens select your home network once again. Also if you are using edge, make sure you connect to edge at least once. Take out the sim, insert it into the streak along with the turbo sim. when you boot you should have network and edge

The workaround for this problem that I am using is that I put my phone in airplane mode whenever I am out of office or home and turn it off when I need to make a call. It seems that the phone does not have the issue of losing network connectivity when coming out of airplane mode in an area with network coverage.

Btw I have also ordered the rebel sim II. Just hoping that it does not have this problem. I really love this phone and I find the display more natural than the samsung galaxy s which i also have.

I am going to give him a pathetic rating. Do tell me if you guys are interested in opening a case against him on ebay.

My rebell sim works great just cut the top off as far as the clearance for the chip and slide it in over the rebell sim easy using three uk sim data works great.

i think our Trade Sales export figures for Asia market would disagree with you

if our solution was not working in Asia then we would know this as we have already beta testers in all parts of Asia.

also i am personally in touch with with many of our resellers and they report no such issues.

You should watch the video on support page and program again your cards with v1.2 as seems to me you have have not managed to update successfully your rebel cards.

Not only my rebelsimcard but all of Locked Dell Streak in my country could not be unlocked by v1.2

And everyone must be temporarily stored Dell Streak

Some one have bought more to try another rebelsimcard but unfortunately the error still same.
