Guest rs899 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) I'm pretty much a newb, but I already have 2 i910s. After being dazzled by initial success of getting the first one to tether and get the internet on Metro PCS, I bought another on ebay that had an "issue" that I though I could overcome, but so far, I am stumped. The second Verizon i910 has the "phone off" (although everything else seems to be fully functional) and I can't find a way to turn it back on. I tried reading the phone in Samsung PST, but there's nothing "there"- can't see it. Last night I tried flashing the ROM up to the current official Samsung release , but after the phone reboots, nothing gets transmitted from the installer software on the PC to the phone. Any ideas? Guest urphonesux Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 have you tried flashing a custom rom through the umdl?
Guest rs899 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 No, not a custom one yet....I am trying to decide on one. Do you guys think that may work?
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) Try a hard-reset before the flash. You can also try grandprix if you flash with the .exe and the other way round. Edited September 2, 2010 by maf107ezk0

I tried a hard reset using the software on the phone's touchscreen, but it wouldn't let me unless I turned the "phone" on... I need to figure out another way to do it (?) Sorry, I don't get what you are saying about grandprix? Is that a ROM? Edited September 2, 2010 by rs899
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 Well, google grandprix  It's a program that lets you flash your PHONE part by part. You'll need i900_EXEcutor inorder to disassemble the ROM you have downloaded. You can also try a hard-reset THIS way.

My employer blocks a lot of stuff and I've got a slow connection at home so it's tough to get this done. I don't know how I will be able to download any ROMs at home but I will try. Do grandprix and .exe work for the i910 as well as the i900?
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 (edited) Dunno... I have an i900, check the ROM specific for the i910 but I'm pretty sure the procedure is the same - the ROM isn't, though. What happened when you tried to hard-reset using the 1-st way from sectors' thread? Edited September 2, 2010 by maf107ezk0
Guest chopperthedog Posted September 2, 2010 Report Posted September 2, 2010 carefull. i910 flashes differently then the i900. good day.

Guest rs899 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 OK- the OP is back after being chased out of McDonalds and finally downloading a selection of CF03 ROMs at the library. I finally was able to flash the phone to one of Adrenaline's custom ROMS, but the problem persists. When I try to dial out I get this pop up - " the phone is currently off- would you like to turn the phone on?"- Of course I would, but I can't :P
