[KERNEL] Sub501 Kernel, mods and control apk

i got this error

E/dalvikvm( 866): Cannot get policy, owner thread id=903

E/dalvikvm( 866): Cannot get policy, waiter thread id=904

if i run your kernel and initmod and apk

if i install the original kernel then all is fijn

is this error related to this

Search this thread. HD ROMs are using cgroups in kernel. My kernel is for 'classic' Desire. I don't have a Z/HD .

From my point of view, as BFS is not using cgroups, I don't see the reason to activate cgroups in classic kernel.

thanks for your great work and fast reply

it's working

the only thing i can't use it now i run hdrom on my desire i have only test it if it's working on my hdrom

and i get that error

E/dalvikvm( 866): Cannot get policy, owner thread id=903

E/dalvikvm( 866): Cannot get policy, waiter thread id=904

back to the original kernel for the hdrom

but thanks for the great work

i tryed a other kernel from coutts99 with bfs and i get the same error

link:coutts99 kernels

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=849002

then i tryed the CFS kernel and the error is gone

can you make a CFS kernel

Can you please share your opinion regarding IO sched? You can use Sub501 Manager to switch between them and reboot (applying without reboot will be available in the next version) . Right now I'm playing with noop and bfq and... hard to choose.

Updates: BFS Kernel update post#1, CFS Kernel update post#3

As Modaco limit file upload per post I have to find a way to publish files on a different location.

Any idea of a good, free hosting? Yes I know, Google search is my friend.... I don;t have time to check every single offer so I prefer some recommendations. PM if necessarily.

How do i disable things in run parts

if i disable it and press apply then it's enable again

yeah, I just identified this problem, the system partition must be rw mounted. everything is in init mods but I forgot to add the logic in the apk.

Now that you have a CFS kernel cu cgroups enabled for Z/HD ROM's does the BFS one still has cgroups enabled (even though it's not used)? And also is the CFS kernel identical to the BFS one (except the obvious different scheduler)?

Yes cgroups is available in both kernels. Also, both kernels have the same features , the only different thing is the scheduler. For the moment I'll let cgroups activated in BFS just because I activated BFQ Hierarchical scheduling which require cgroups.

I performed some tests today and BFS seems to be faster than CFS kernel.

Sub501, thanks for the CFS kernel - it works very good with baadnwz DHD-port Rom!

This is the best kernel IMHO!

Thanks, I want to tune it a little bit. Stany tuned for a new release this week.

I try your latest BFS kernel with port of HD ROM, but still have errors in logcat.

E/IPCThreadState( 585): Failed to find cpu subsys

E/dalvikvm( 313): Cannot get policy, owner thread id=556

E/dalvikvm( 313): Cannot get policy, waiter thread id=340

E/dalvikvm( 313): Cannot get policy, owner thread id=340

E/dalvikvm( 313): Cannot get policy, waiter thread id=327

E/dalvikvm( 313): Failed to find cpu subsys

Is any way to fix it?

And one more. Could you add the VR IO scheduler in kernel? It would be interesting to try it.
