Guest jertocvil Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Hello, I read in another forum that the new U8150 and the U8110 have the same hardware, so I downloaded a Froyo ROM from the official page. Can I flash it without risks? Or I can break the phone doing it? I don't know how this update works (for example, if it flashes an incompatible bootloader, so the phone won't boot anymore). Thanks.
Guest Gjole86 Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 the rom is out already?? link pls

Guest rickywyatt Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 ok i extrcted the img files now how do i make a zip from them?
Guest rickywyatt Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 what i mean is iv extracted the update.app and no i got boot.img,recovery.img,system.img,userdata.img now how do i make a update.zip from them?
Guest kallt_kaffe Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 Now, this is very interesting. I'll have a go at getting it to run on an U8100.
Guest McSpoon Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 what i mean is iv extracted the update.app and no i got boot.img,recovery.img,system.img,userdata.img now how do i make a update.zip from them? If you're feeling brave you could try flashing the boot.img and system.img directly using fastboot. Make sure you have a backup first. (And don't blame me if it goes wrong, I don't have a Pulse Mini so I've no idea how hackable/resilient it is to this stuff.) That would be simpler. Alternatively if you wish to create an update.zip the process is complicated but essentially it goes something like this:unyaffs the system image (best to do it as superuser to preserve userIDs)Now you have an unpacked system image so you can make any modifications you like. Then run the make-update-script (which can be found in the Android AOSP code) to repack it as an update.zipDelete all of the symbolic links and construct a /META-INF/com/google/android/update-scriptFinally sign it. (google testsign.jar)...I probably missed out a few things...
Guest Jerry786 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Well well.. whats going on here? Finally a breakthrough for the Pulse Mini? I hope so!
Guest jertocvil Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I've flashed the rom through fastboot and it booted: -DATA CONNECTION/PHONE: Works -SOUND:SPEAKER: Doesn't workHEADPHONES: Works -CAMERA: Works (Camera button doesn't work) -WIFI: Doesn't work Sometimes the phone displays that the data connection isn't active but it is and works.
Guest Linan Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 hi jertocvil, any noticeable speed boosts?
