I am having an European streak, with baseband GAUSB1A110700-EU

It tells me 'A software update is available'.

I am downloading the file Streak_101_3562_00.pkg from mobileupdate.dell.com around 86.81MB

Touching the readied update tells me 'Update now'...

My phone restarts and starts showing a triangle and a slowly filling band.

Halfway through filling the band, an exclamation mark shows up inside the triangle,

and below everything, this text shows up: 'Software is up to date. Rebooting in 30 seconds'

My Streak reboots into the old version, and soon tells me again: 'A software update is available'...

And so on!

WHAT NOW?

I have downloaded the official update-6941-21.pkg , renamed it into Update.pkg, and downloaded it onto the SD card.

Restarting with both volume buttons pressed gives me 4 lines, and I choose line 2 'Software upgrade via Update.pkg

'Press the shutte button to start emergency software recovery' shows up

Halfway through the update, exactly the same thing happens, except for this text 'FOTA model name mismatch'...

and it restarts again.

Please, anybody, help me out...

Have a look at the first pinned topic...

First update from 00-EU to 21-O2 ; then update over the air straight from Dell!

It looks like you are with O2 - mine is direct from Dell.
