Why does the touch screen stop working with superboot

Hi All,

Straight to the point: What is the reason why the pulse's touch screen stops working when going between t-mobile and huawei ROMs?

In some more detail: The other day I finally received my pulse from t-mobile following a hw malfunction with the speaker. I gave in the phone with a regular T-mobile 1.5 (post Dec) system image (T-mobile logo at boot), but with superboot and nandroid recovery installed. What I got back was (what seemed) a clean vanilla Huawei 1.5 system and boot set (Huawei logo), which I quickly proceeded to replace with nandroid and doing a system recovery to my t-mobile image. Everything went fine except that, you may have guessed it, the touch screen stopped working. After a few hours or reading through posts, and trying all combinations of official t-mobile 1.5 full image installs, in the end what saved the day and recovered the touch screen was using the boot image referred to here. What's the low down on this, and why does the common superboot only work with seemingly the virgin t-mobile bootloader?

TIA.
