update confusion - UK unlocked (00) device

Hi,

I have a UK unlocked devise purchased from amazon.co.uk. It's 00 type.

I had never updated it from its original 1.6 firmware build 4399.

Today I received an OTA update. When I downloaded it I saw that it was still 1.6 firmware but built 6267.

Now, only my version build is changed.

Is that normal ?

Shouldn't I receive a 2.1 update with 8105 build ?

In any case, can I download and use the update 8105 from the forum with no problems ?

I had the 1.6 on the device unlocked GAUSB1A110700. I HAVE UPGRADED TO 2.1 following this guide and I am fine with no problems, even with root permissions. I remain so until they released 2.2 with root permissions.I'm sorry I followed this guide first

so you also have O2 boot logo etc... ?

I have an unlocked Dell Streak which I flashed to 6941 and now 8105. This means my device is now on the O2 ROM. I'd like to get back to the Dell ROM when they release a proper 2.1 build.

Let's say I decided to upgradeto 2.1 changing my device type from 00 to 21. Is there a way toturn back to 00 in case Dell releases the 2.2 upgrade ?

The update you've performed (6267) just means you can now use the O2 2.1 official release, which I think is the only 2.1 they are going to release!

At the middle of this topic, you find a lot of information to go back in 00 baseband.

But, it is very painful to do that (in my own opinion).
