Guest wyvern678 Posted September 3, 2010 Report Posted September 3, 2010 I have updated form 1.6 to 2.1 and the streak is now bricked and stops at the Dell splash screen. Have called O2 and they have no clue at all and told me to call Dell called them and they were as much use as a chocolate "T" pot. I have put the update on my SD card and pressed up down volume and power to do manual update still the same. I did not install leaked version as I was concerned it would brick my Streak with no support, official update has done the same and NO support. Can anyone help please?

Exact same thing has happened to me, I like you waited till official release, and again like you put the update on SD card, yellow line moved as if was installing then back to the Dell splash screen.

Guest wyvern678 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Got put through to a nice lady in Texas in the Streak team!!
Guest yosemite-sam Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 (edited) just a quickie, when you say it updated then got stuck at the dell logo. did it complete the whole update? from memory it would un pack first then show the screen with a build date when it does the actual flash. my screwy streak would even unpack but not flash and when id go thru the motions of applying the update again, it then would show the screen with the build date and it would start flashing. i hope someone corrects me if im wrong, but i do recall 2 screens during updates, first would show a little box as it unpacks, then the second would show the build date is it applied the flash. (currently still on 1.6 virgin 4399 Streak lol it hasnt an app installed or even any details added) :P Edited September 4, 2010 by yosemite-sam

I hope people can bump this for those that are doing this the first time. if it is just not flashing it then you should be ok getting it back to stock. personally id use the right recovery flash with fastboot then apply the original rom update. shame mine was a hardware fault 9 days without the streak and now 5 days to wait for a charger!

I can't get the fastboot thing to work either, my pc just comes up with device not regognised error and yes I do have PC suite installed.

Guest wyvern678 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Well the stock 1.6 from the link above has un-bricked my Streak. Now trying 2.1 again. Wish me luck. And thanks for the help.
Guest wyvern678 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 All fixed and updated. Thanks for the help.
Guest Dogmann55 Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Hi Blackpool, I hope you have managed to fix yours like wyvern76 otherwise i need to warn you whilst the advisor's in Texas are really friendly and helpful they really don't know what they are talking about as you will discover they will send UPS to collect your Streak first which should take up to 48hrs or if your unlucky like me 9 days. It has taken in total 29 days for my Streak from it failing to me receiving a replacement refurbished Streak and when it arrived it has a scratch to the front by the back, menu, home buttons and a scratch on the speaker grill and a paint chip on the battery cover so i wish you the best of luck and hope you don't suffer the same as i have you can read the whole series of events in this thread but its not pleasant reading more like downright alarming and horrific. http://android.modaco.com/content/dell-str...th-your-streak/ Marc
