Guest brack Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 Ok, I'm back with some money from insurance company which covered 50% of the original cost of my Pulse that got wet under the rain. Now I want to buy a new phone for not more than 4000 Swedish kroner (around 400 GBP) well, I dont really have the full 4000 yet but looking for the phone for that max price. And here I have a few candidates and a few questions to this forum, my candidates are Acer Liquid E and Xperia X10. However here are my questions:I looked at expansys.ch here http://www.expansys.ch/d.aspx?i=190351 it has X10 for the nice price but it looks like it is excluding VAT and since I'm in Sweden I will probably be billed with 25% on top of it, then it get VERY expansive - maybe someone here has an experience of purchasing for Swees expansys site to any European nation? if so, did you have to pay tax in your country?I noticed there is no acer liquid E at the expansys.com in UK are there are any good cheap places which ship internationally withing EU and sell Liquid E or SE X10 or similar, share your experience?I also found shop in Germany selling x10 here http://www.telecomversand.de/e-vendo.php?s...mp;PartnerId=14 for good price, however it is T-Mobile branded, but I assume this is unlocked. However, what does this branding mean for me warranty-wise or other?Well, if you have any thoughts, please, respond to me. This community was very helpful to me with my Pulse and I hope to stay here, even with the new phone.

Guest brack Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 For a litttle bit more you can get a desire. non brainer for me? As I mentioned - I only plan to find 4000 and desire is 4500 here, if I would be able to reach that I would buy Galaxy S for 4550 would I?
Guest mark2410 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 erm why would you look at expansys' swis site, the only outside the EU one? anyway as much as i used to love se i wouldnt be putting up with going back to 1.6. id be looking towards the galaxy or some of the interesting form factor motoralas
Guest Simon O Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 (edited) Yeah. why not just use http://www.expansys.se/ ? http://www.expansys.se/mobile-phones/?filter=5|0|2000-4000 - quite a few in your price range. The Motorola Milestone would be a great purchase. It has official 2.2 updates and has been rooted and custom roms etc. It's basically the EU version of the Droid. http://www.expansys.se/d.aspx?i=190229 Edited September 5, 2010 by flibblesan

However, If I look at prisjakt.nu the prices I can find there are comparable to British expansys and I will probably go for it there. I personally dont likMotorolla Droid with Qwerty, it feels bulky, the xt720 has smaller CPU and I think less RAM then even Acer Liquid E but the price is higher, I guess for the name...
Guest brack Posted October 15, 2010 Report Posted October 15, 2010 Ok, finally I'm with a new phone!!! It's Samsung Galaxy S. My wife said she wants me to have the best phone, so, I get it for my 40th birthday. Of course SGS is not the same as pulse firmware-wise and with my pulse-mindset I bricked the first phone in the first day. Good thing I got this phone in good shop, and they replaced my phone with the other one which has 3-buttons functioning and I also became wiser. However, I see that this community is way more advanced than SGS, and firmwares for pulse are way more safer to install then those for SGS. The software for SGS (Kies) is one of the worst software pieces I saw, it requires super computer to run and it must be Windows machine (I dont use those for four years now). The device itself is sweet though, huge screen, nice speed, videos, camera, etc etc etc. However, I think I will need to straiten myself to not use custom firmwares on this device, it works fine and I should just enjoy it.
