Guest MikeF74 Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I may be wrong, but it seems like build 6601 was more honest with the signal bars at the top of the screen. The bars up there seemed like they had tracked more closely to the Mobile Signal Strength widget in terms of horizontal position (even though the widget has more bars in its display scheme). It seems like the stock bars for 2.1 show full strength (4 bars) for anything better than around -92 dBm.
Guest vinokirk Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I was just thinking that! I've got full h signal yet the net seems quite slow
Guest Gopu Posted September 4, 2010 Report Posted September 4, 2010 I was just thinking that! I've got full h signal yet the net seems quite slow I had this issue right from 1.6 The signal bars are always falsely high
Guest miker71 Posted September 5, 2010 Report Posted September 5, 2010 I haven't really noticed one way or the other, though I have just switched from vodafone to t-mobile and get a noticeably better signal now. I haven't been able to touch a small part of my Streak to make it drop bars, so I'm good. Dell didn't need to supply me a free case and the antennae engineer didn't get fired. so with regards to it being generous with the bars, i couldn't care less so long as it doesn't drop calls (it doesn't here).
