How do I tell which ROM I'm on?

I hear a lot of talk about lag and various other issues which I don't seem to have (or never experienced)

Considering I bought the phone 2nd hand, how do I tell which fw I'm running?

In the about menu it says the following:

open dialer and type in *#1234# you should get 3 info lines
