Guest poordna Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) I rooted and CFW'ed my Sprint Hero many moons ago (So many moons ago that I don't remember which method or software I used) and decided it was time to update the rom I had on it. I was getting errors with Sprint widgets, a few times my Home screen just went blank and I had no clock/calendar, no shortcuts, etc. So I dug up my link to the ROM thread, built a new ROM, copied it to my SDCard, wiped the phone, and ran "Flash Zip from SDCard," hit "Home" and I get this error: "Install from sdcard... finding update package... verifiying update package... E: Wrong digest: system/build.prop.nopassword E: verification failed Installation aborted" And yeah as I said I have already done all of the "wipes." <update> Tried a different rom, Cronos... Is it normal to be stuck on the Hero screen for a seriously long time? Edited September 6, 2010 by poordna

Guest poordna Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) do i need to like... re-root my phone or something for these newer roms? this initial load is seriously taking forever... It's been at least 12 minutes... I'd go to sleep and let it do it's thing but I don't want to end up in a situation where I can't recharge the battery. it had a full charge when I started the night but... with the backlight+ display on it's not going to last all night. Guest uk786 Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 @poordna You wouldn't have to re-root, just make sure your phone has enough juice and that you flashing the right ROM for your phone i.e. GSM/CDMA. Hope that helps. :P

Hope that helps. :P Yeah I'm pretty sure they're CDMA roms, but I could be wrong. I gave Cronos a good 45+ minutes and it didn't budge, so now I'm back to MoDaCo and I'm back on the same problem of "wrong digest/no.password" Thankfully I actually followed directions and did a nand backup before wiping and I'm not phoneless... But I would still like to figure this problem out. If there's any other info you guys need about my phone I'm in a better position to provide it now. Oh nice I get greeted with an error "The application Sprint Zone (process com.sprint.dsa) has stopped unexpectedly, please try again" Anyway I guess the version I'm on is: Firmware Version: 1.5 Kernel version: 2.6.27-mck-1.2 Build Number: MoDaCo Custom ROM 2.2 Core; ssh password blah blah Edited September 6, 2010 by poordna
