Guest alert_bri Posted September 6, 2010 Report Posted September 6, 2010 Hello everyone, I've just had a pretty stressful weekend... having attempted the official O2 v2.1 upgrade over my leaked v2.1. Initially, I got the flashing led problem... where the home, menu and return icons flashed approx every 40 secs, and the screen became unresponsive. After much hacking around I managed to get back to stock version 1.6, and installing the official v2.1 from there fixed the flashing led problem, but still the machine slowed to a crawl after a few minutes of use. Finally, this evening I stumbled across the solution to the system becoming unresponsive... I'm writing this at full speed with beautifully smooth performance using the superb SlideIT App - after an hour or so of continuous use. What I did, was to start up with the up/down volume buttons pressed and then selected the recalibrate screen option. If you're struggling with an unresponsive Dell Streak after upgrading to the official v2.1 release, try recalibrating your screen... it makes a wonderful difference! Hope that helps, quite happy with this now until v2.2 arrives. Cheers Brian

Guest alert_bri Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Im on the leaked beta and find it very good apart from lack of pc suite capability, how much better is the official than the leaked? The main advantage to me is that I'm running the o2 release v2.1, which may not be much better than the leaked v2.1 but the next upgrade to official v2.2 should run much more smoothly. I suspect the major hassle this time has been due to install conflicts with the leaked version. You can avoid those by installing stock v1.6 and remember to recalibrate your screen after installing v2.2 Good luck! Brian
