Alternatives to MoDaCo Hero CDMA??

This thread might be redundant, I can't tell... There's a very similar thread but I have a nagging feeling it might be for GSM.

Anyway, I'm having absolutely no luck getting a more up to date MoDaCo installed on my phone, so I'm open to some alternative ROMs.

That, and the general consensus in the MoDaCo thread is that it's kind of a lame duck, way behind the times.

Welp. Google is my friend. I landed on an XDA wiki with a listing of all official and unofficial ROMs that were available. So I wound up with Cyanogenmod 6 or something, based on 2.2 and it's working great.
