Sounds like you have a SLCD version and have loaded a ROM that does not support the screen, what ROM and HBOOT were on your phone originally?

Hi Sam

No idea what ROM was there (I recall saying something like 1.15.100) but I am certain that the HBOOT was 0.75. I foolowed intructions from this website:

http://www.broadbandgenie.co.uk/blog/20100...re-update-froyo

It was a T-Mobile branded one and a Froyo was not available at outset, therefore decided to unbrand in the first place....

Any idea if theres anything I can do?

EDIT: after some googling I can see that people are successful with restoring the screen

Can anybody advise on which version is the safest?
