Guest Chabs_ Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Hey to all! First I must tell you, I am here for one single purpose, find what I have been looking for for weeks... THE original, untouched, untempered-with Samsung i900 ROM. Now I know, signing up in a forum just to ask a single question then get the hell out is one bad way of behaving, I hate that my self in my forums... But I have been googling this damn thing for such a long time... I'm starting to get crazy!?!?! I have tested some roms for my i900, roms that I downloaded here in fact but didn't expect to stumble on one heck of a mess. Now I'm not saying you guys are awful at that, everyone makes mistakes... But it is what triggered my need of an original rom. I respect your work, honestly, you spent way too much time on that... But I am in need of something much more easy to use. In fact I can't see some options I used to use with my old 6.1 anymore, or manage to find them but then forget about where they were! Other thing is... There are 4 "Theme" options all scattered in 4 different menus... And a bunch of very useless application I can't seem to delete... Only one that proved useful was the FingerKeyboard with cool nice colors. Now PLEASE I am begging you... I need an original 6.5 or whatever the LATEST version is. Please! I can't take it anymore. And don't try to convince me to use one of the other users creations, because I would seriously rather use an untouched one. Thanks for giving me your time.
Guest avarrous Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 if you want original 6.5 for omnia u can't have it ...coz omnia can't update to win 6.5...but if you want cookes rom with untouched WM6.5 with all samsung default applications u can try rom dayspring2099us and for me i will use 21905 com 2..coz ilove com 2 :P .... http://www.modaco.com/content/i900-general...uched-versions/
Guest andrew.mazlim Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 Like the above user said, there is no 6.5 official rom... because i900 is a WM6.1 device - only! We're using 6.5s, but never was an official release for i900s.
Guest Chabs_ Posted September 8, 2010 Report Posted September 8, 2010 (edited) Like the above user said, there is no 6.5 official rom... because i900 is a WM6.1 device - only! We're using 6.5s, but never was an official release for i900s. Mmmh, well the Windows Mobile website DID state that all 6.1 mobiles were able to be updated to the 6.5 version... And something about asking the phone provider or the operator for the update. The i900 was in the list of those "update-ready" phones. I checked the official Samsung website, there was a 200mb file that I downloaded but every time I tried to install it, the darn thing kept asking me to reset my phone. As for the ROMS, now that you completely butchered my hopes of finding an original one :) I'll try Mr. avarrous's link! Thanks! If anything's wrong, I'll bother you guys again :P Until then thanks for the answers. PS: Maybe I could use your help here... What's with all those 26xxx, 28xxxx and other 23xxx? Should I choose the 28233 or what :S I'm pretty lost with all those numbers as they're not in order. Edited September 8, 2010 by Chabs_

It will blow your mind!!! And when you'll flash some "custom" 6.1s and you'll tired them... then, you can flash some "custom" 6.5 roms!... Believe me, after 2 weeks (a couple years ago), I flashed my first "custom" rom and since then, I flashed over 200 "custom" roms... and now, I'm very-very pleased with OCK's "Eclipse" 6.5 one. From my part, forget the "official" Omnia roms, 6.1 or "6.5"; just flash a "custom" rom - you'll think, you bought a new phone, trust me! (But! Becareful and read all the necessary steps you NEED to do, to make all things right. Okay?)

I used 6.5 customs :P I know what you mean, the "Like a new phone" part, but to be honest I'm not looking for such thing at all! Or maybe... Well depends of course, if it's a quality ROM that has been used and approved by thousands, sure why not! But I have never been fond of custom stuff... Really. I find it hard to put my trust on such things. All your suggestions are welcome mate! I'm open.

Trust me; the "little fellow" (Omnia) is quite slow with all these useless official Samsung Widgets, with memory free low and very few Storage space. To me, I never (ever!) used these silly Widgets and when I found "custom" roms without them, instantly I flashed these roms. Since you're using 6.5s (and you like them), continue with 6.5s - OCK's roms are very impressive, especially his final work (he retired i900), the rom I'm running, "Eclipse". Of course, you may try older builds from "myths", former great cheffs, like my mate Shokka9, Sector, Khuanchai, Ryrzy, Nicklash... and more. Or, you can try "custom" 6.1 roms from the cheffs I mention above; they are REALLY great roms, even quite "old" by now... Give a try. Edited September 8, 2010 by andrew.mazlim

I see that as me you also love M2D. And as You have said before that the i900 is made for the WM6.1 then letting go of a bit of good looking interface a WM 6.1 ROM should be better for daily use! Please tell me which ROM did you like as the best one in the WM 6.1 section.
