Guest tc4101 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 (edited) Hi, i run ATK to kill program, then a few minutes later, without even opening any programs, my memory drops to 20Mb and about 10 other programs re-appear if not the same ones that i just killed... anyone know why this is the case? i know multitaksing is good, but to have program using up memory in the background when i dont even run it is no good. cheers Edited September 9, 2010 by tc4101
Guest Rufy93 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 This isn't a problum but a feature in android. Most of the programs you see in a task killer are cached programs, to start them quickly. (Just as the browser caches your visited webpages.)
Guest Auxx Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Apps start when they need to. If you unlock your phone from sleeping, Launcher is shown and that launches all apps with widgets you places on home screen. If you play music, last.fm is launched to scrobble your tracks (if you use it). And so on. Just don't open task killer and stop worrying.
Guest thedicemaster Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 it's android's smart task managing system. apps that you force-closed won't take any cpu/battery time. if they are "started" by androids task managing system, it just means part of the app is placed in ram in case you want to use it. these apps are however launched with a very low priority, so they won't use any CPU time, and if you launch something memory-consuming those apps are the first to be killed by android's built-in task killer.
