Guest Sub501 Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 Hello there, I'm a little bit stressed... desperate. I'm roaming and my phone got strange behavior... it reboots... randomly. Flashed basic R8 without any mod applied.... still rebooting. Wiped, flashed basic r8 which worked perfectly before, no apps installed.... still rebooting. I saw that the signal is decreasing here ( they have the gsm cell installed on the top of a van) and the battery is getting hot 34-38 ( fever, may be because of signal decrease ). Flashed 30_2 radio, same problem. Ah, forgot to mention that I switched my sd to a larger one. Now, does anyone got the same issue in roaming? Could be a sd issue? My card was formatted by ROM manager twice and with Linux fdisk/mkfs.. no luck Thanks

After the replace everithing is ok. Maybe there is the same hardware problem with your phone ...
Guest DragosP Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Sorry man, as lubo777 said, seems to be a hardware problem...
Guest Sub501 Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Quite strange, changed the roaming network and no reboots. Now back home and no reboots. The battery is about 25-26 degrees and reached 31 with WiFi on. The temperature is also raising a bit (29-30) when driving, I think because the cells are switched quite often and the phone is in my pocket close to my body. Now I'm confused...

I had a similar problem with mine took t back to the shop who sent it away to HTC 3 weeks later they gave me a new phone.. Its a pain in the arse, and i hope its not related to my problem, but for reference on the official HTC repair letter it went in as Problem Description: Power off during operation / fail to wake up.

Mine rebooted 3 times when in roaming and I see gsm signal was 0 just after reboot.Once changed the network was ok. This is why I suppose is something related to the GSM network/radio firmware. I'll monitor it for 2-3 days. Now I have 50+ hours since last requested reboot .On my side the reboots were randomly but not often (after 12-20 hours since powered on).
Guest losfan Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 I have same problem too. I think that Undervolt modules is the problem. When Flashed R9 without UV(undervolt module), R9 worked perfecly. Check it

When Flashed R9 without UV(undervolt module), R9 worked perfecly. Check it Thanks for the tip but I still have R8 without undervolt, only interactive/powersave. As I remember it rebooted with no mods applied. Right now the issue is gone but I still want to find out the root of the problem....

Personaly, if my little Desire of about 500€ here in Belgium start to make things like that, I'm sure I'll be very stressed too!!
Guest Sub501 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 (edited) Personaly, if my little Desire of about 500€ here in Belgium start to make things like that, I'm sure I'll be very stressed too!! Yes this is true, it is not a cheap device. I'm a Linux addict, using it since '98, I encountered lot of problems during this period but I managed to solve them and the most important to find the cause. With this device is a little bit different as we have some closed piece of code and of course a closed hardware. It is not as easy as : it reboots? no pb, hack file.c , lower the FSB or change the RAM module ;-). Thanks everyone who posted here. As soon as I'll be back at the office I'll start checking my colleague's HTC Desire. Both phones are from the same batch, same box - should have similar behavior. EDIT If you have time to post some battery temperature values within radio state (wifi, gsm ) it will make me feel more confortable. Cheers Edited September 12, 2010 by Sub501
