Guest 1an Posted September 9, 2010 Report Posted September 9, 2010 hi! Is there some custom ROM that works if you don't have the December update? I have a Swedish U8220 and when i tried to update to a 1.5 custom ROM everything seemed to be good except the touchscreen didn't work. Best regards 1an

But why wouldn't you update to December update? Infact, why wouldn't you update to 2.1? It has a LOT of advantages. I can't imagine being on stock 1.5. But whatever floats your boat. Cheers! It fixes a lot of bugs with the version of Android 1.5 shipped with the device. It's entirely possible that the U8220 supplied by other carrier don't need the update. In the case of Sweden you can upgrade using the official 2.1 update supplied by Tre.
Guest rjm2k Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 If you really do mean that you want to install a 1.5 rom then I think Pauls pre-dec MCR 1.5 rom is still available if you look on the wiki/search the forum. I really would advise going for 2.1 though instead.

Guest 1an Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Thanks for your answers! Yes, right now i have the stock 1.5 vanilla update from Swedish tre, it runs very smoothly but i thought that a custom ROM would be even better. The reason i does not update to 2.1 is because of the sms problem. Also i imagine the 1.5 is much faster than 2.1 and multitasks a lot better. I should have a look at Pauls pre-dec MCR 1.5 and MCR Vanilla 1. then and see if they works with my swedish tre ROM. best regards 1an

If you use it normally (2,3 widgets, no "heavy" apps and games), there is no sms bug since the free ram doesn't go below 10 MB and the sms app doesn't get killed. That's my experience :P

That's my experience :P Yes, it is fast but i did not use any widgets except for the google search widget which feels very lightweight and i also use the FLB-mod and still i miss a lot of text messages. If it wasn't for the sms problem the flb-mod would be wonderfull :) Now i managed to flash the MDC 1.7 ROM and everything seems to work. After the first boot my touchscreen didn't work. To fix it i just flashed 1.5 superboot with a modified .img file that i found on the forum.
