Guest Rufy93 Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Hi, Is it possible to flash update.zip without recovery console installed??? thanks If you use the default recovery (acers) you name the file to update.zip, put it in the root of the sdcard and boot to recovery.
Guest kristophe Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 I don't know if if it possible to flash update.zip, as android itself can't manage .zip file (need 3rd part soft), but you can easyly flash any .img to system (recovery, boot...) How to process : First, you have to get the flash_image file http://downloads.droidmod.org/flash_image Then get Android terminal Emulator for free form Market (it's from Jack Palevich) Get Rootexplorer, push the flash_image to /system/bin then copy any file .img to root of the sdcard, go into terminal and type '/system/bin/flash_image recovery /sdcard/recovery.img' where recovery.img is malez's one... I process like this when I get Malez Recovery updates. Tell me if the method helps you
Guest Joshuah Posted September 20, 2010 Report Posted September 20, 2010 If you use the default recovery (acers) you name the file to update.zip, put it in the root of the sdcard and boot to recovery. Not working, it just sits on the "recovery" screen for ages.. it has no action after that? Any other ideas?
