Guest m29 Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Hi, upgraded my r5 to r8. went smooth, logon screen even showed a fancy Modaco picture (cool :-)) . Several days later, I have gone to recovery mode (wanted to show someone how to do it) using the ROM Manager in this version (never did it before, I generally used the power button procedure) Screen got the desired Logo and waited for the USB connection. As this point, I decided it's not neccessary and wanted out of the recover mode. So I unplugged and replugged the battery. Turning it on, got it stuck in the white screen, Green HTC, no logo, no "brilliant somthing" that I can't even remember what it was , no modaco logo. I tried re-flushing the R8, didnt help. still stuck after it was applied. I wiped the factory / cache / Darvish (or what ever the name is ) and flushed the r8 again - didn't help. The phone is stuck in this opening screen and is going no where. suggestions ? m29.
Guest rseahole Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Have you run unrevoked again?
Guest EddyOS Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Go back to stock and re-root is probably the best option
Guest budadank Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) Trying not to be too condescending, it might be a good idea to go back to stock, and stay stock until you figure out exactly what you're doing. Edited September 10, 2010 by budadank
Guest rseahole Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Theirs a good newb guide to rooting available via the link below GL http://www.t-mod.org/?page_id=11
Guest m29 Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 well, problem solved. I did a Nand restore ( took me back to r5, lucky I did a backup before flushing r5 way back when). Then, re-flashed r8, looks ok. I'm not a newbie , did rooting several times. Can't say I know all the tools and different methods to do it, but I get along .... :-) Thank you anyway for your help.
