Guest Squide Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Use the froyo leak for a night... besides the froyo features... 1. The startup speed of 3D gallery is much faster than on Eclair.
Guest Master_T Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 YouPorn.com works! Bhuahaha WIN! :P Anyway, I find the battery life is really good... I expected Froyo to eat a lot of power, instead it seems better than Eclair....
Guest Edward.W Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 YouPorn.com works! That'a how flash help us :P

Guest Andrea1Liquid Posted September 10, 2010 Report Posted September 10, 2010 Why not ? *** OFF TOPIC *** Escusez moi for the OT (:P) but I'm trying to "port" phhroyo to froyo leak. Yes, I know it sounds weird, but in phhroyo I obtain 35mgflops in linpack while in stock "only" 26. I also feel that phhroyo is even faster than stock and I really like the 3D launcher (you know, where you scroll the apps) and the white notifications bar. Do you think we just have to wait an optimized custom ROM (Lain & Suxem are doing a good work - 30 mgflops in linpack)? I didn't touch the boot.img, but I replaced ALL old files with files from LS 2.2b2 and added missing files. I used phhroyo v4.3. I don't want to break my Liquid, so I'm asking to you: do you think it will work? *** OFF TOPIC *** I think we should create an "Epic Quote" section and include as first the post #2 of this topic: YouPorn.com works!
Guest Scsiborg Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) Instead of going off topic, why dont we address the initial question and grace it with a proper answer?. I would be interested in knowing: How much free memory is available on boot? Is this ext2/3 compatible?, will the os still boot with ext formatted memory card present? Does this work on both liquid and liquid e?if so do we get the full 512mb of addressable memory on the liquid e? Anyone who is using this, is it worth flashing at this point, is it quicker, more stable or more responsive? Edited September 11, 2010 by Scsiborg
Guest jayziac Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 (edited) I think it had 150 MB free right after I flashed it. But it's not really meaningful because Acer included more junk apps, which can be removed if you have root. I installed it on my A1 with 256MB RAM so likely works with LiquidE too. I tested out the Acer UI for a bit, but it's a little sluggish and unintuitive since I'm used to regular Android UI now. So I tried launcher Pro and even regular android 2.2 launcher which are both smooth. Definitely recommend flashing. Edited September 11, 2010 by jayziac
Guest HustlinDaily Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 That MsgExpress app is legit.
Guest mmick Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 1) Is it possible to stop those logs Xian was talking about (he said this ROM is constantely making logs/debugging) 2) how is battery compared to standard v2.1 on same conditions?
Guest Harness Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 I flashed the bin coming from LCR 1.8.0.1, and I found it sluggish as hell in comparison. I only did it to pull a few apk's out. Harness.

I'm curious about the logs too, I haven't noticed anything on my /sdcard at least. Maybe it's in a system dir? Battery use is about the same for me, but hard to tell since I've been using it so much lately. (No reboots or FC's yet btw so it's pretty stable)
Guest endamaco Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Improvement of froyo leak over official eclair? JIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guest klipnov Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) battery life is good and smoother. I tried with all off before sleep, woke up in the morning only about 5% - 10% decrease.. Edited September 22, 2010 by klipnov
Guest astuermer Posted September 22, 2010 Report Posted September 22, 2010 1) Is it possible to stop those logs Xian was talking about (he said this ROM is constantely making logs/debugging) Oh, are there still logs in /data/dxdrm/ like in other pre-releases? Each day internal memory decreases by aroudn 20MB... and after 3-5 days you can't receive any sms...
