Guest 20x Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 Best way to recover out of such situations is to drain all the water by agitating and letting it dry a mild heat source, like back of fat CRT of old tv or a tiny heat convecting area for a pretty long period. I have tried it on my video cam which went into lake, but after this everything worked out, though I had to change the lens. Too difficult to say if it is right amount they are demanding. You can ask the details what all has been damaged, whether the AMOLED screen has gone bust or the main circuitry gone bad. Right now you are at their mercy because phone is with them. It will certainly be repaired in an authorised service centre that is for sure, how much do they charge that is all up to them. Try a hard bargain, in India this sometimes is possible to get a reduced rate too! All the best.

Guest arutha0401 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 I've read something like this (can't recall where exactly) but it suggests that you put it in a container full of rice-grain because its effective in absorbing moisture. Good Luck on your phone man.

Guest PankajM Posted October 25, 2010 Report Posted October 25, 2010 Hi Prince... what is the current status? I know its too late to give any suggestion so late, but same thing happened to my B7610 also (not 'soap' water) and it was ON after that. I switched it OFF and took off battery. After drying with hair dryer from a distance, it was ok but used to switch off frequently. It took around 3-4 days to behave normal, but on its own. Now perfectly ok. Please let us know how is yours now and how much did they charge for it. Thanks.
