Guest Teakobe123 Posted September 11, 2010 Report Posted September 11, 2010 forgive my poor english... i just got a dell streak, and it has a custom rom i think. and it also came with a lot of useless software and stuff. i really hate that. so i was checking it out. and found a factory reset button, it says it can remove any data or installed software from the phone. i though it was perfecet. so i did that. and it rebooted. there was the Dell logo. after about 20 mins, i try to turn off the phone and it won't work. so i took off the battery. and i can no longer get in the system. it stucks at the dell logo. i try to use Clolckwordmod recovery. but it says "E Can't find misc". and all the options after you selected "Software upgrade via sdcard blablah" is seems disabled. i also did fastboot, and it stucks at "wait for usb fastboot detect".. when i plug the streak into win7, it can display the "Dell Streak", but PC suite is still showing Disconnected. i'm afriad was i damage the core files of the android system ? how i suppose to fix this ? anybody having the same problem?? help me out here. thanks very much!!!!!!! :P
Guest shEEEsh Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 I think I will NEVER mess with updating anything on my Streak because I notice that if you get into trouble, you can sit for a long time holding your $500 brick before anyone comes to your rescue.
Guest Dogmann55 Posted September 12, 2010 Report Posted September 12, 2010 Hi Sheesh, Actually i have to disagree with you on this one as when my Streak suddenly got stuck it wasn't due to my installing or flashing a new Rom it just happened but before i posted about it and asked for any suggestions i read and tried all the known solutions and in my post clearly stated what had happened and also what i had already tried. As it happens some one came to my assistance and made me a .bat file to fix my Streak which did work although the main thing was it returned my Streak to as it came out of the factory which was very important to me to get service as i had been running a custom Rom. As it turns out mine actually had a hardware fault nothing to do with the software at all and this was proved by the fact after sending away my Streak i got a replacement as mine couldn't be repaired due to it. I think the problem is that many users are constantly asking the same questions again and again and people are loathe to keep on repeating themselves the other thing is people are doing things to their Streaks without understanding the consequences of what they are doing users need to understand what happens once you have flashed anything but a official firmware especially when it comes to doing full wipes and factory resets on a device that has had this done.
