Right, I give up, FLB 1.5 or other custom rom how do I

I managed to install the MCR 1.7 on my Pulse, I then managed to install the T Mobile 2.1 on my pulse - managed both of these relatively easily.

Now that FLB seems to have stabilised, I now fancy going from the T Mobile 2.1 to the FLB 1.5.

I've been reading the board all night to find out how to do this but I'm going round in circles.

Step 1 in the FLB thread is to have a 2.1 Rom installed - Check :(

Step 2 is to have Clockworkmod recovery installed - :P

Followed the link to the Clockwork thread and there's 2 install options;

1) easy method - I've tried this, downloaded from market but can't get the recovery for the pulse as phone isn't rooted

2) difficult method - looks like I need a Mac or Linux, I'm running XP so I'm stuffed?

Like I said, I've spent all night reading posts on the board but I'm just going around in circles - I need clockworkmod to root the phone but can't get clockworkmod to work cause the phone isn't rooted - Arghhh :) :(

Anyone care to enlighten me to the magic step I'm missing.

The difficult method works on XP mate. Just follow the first set of instructions and ignore the ones for Linux and Mac

Install the drivers, put your pulse in bootloader [Volume Down+Red when pressing start], and then you just have to run the .bat file
