my first bootanimation.

finally got a custom made bootanimation to work on android.

here's the result: (preview is of lower quality because of limits to the amount of colors .gif can handle)

inspired by the name Liquid, it's for 480x800 Acer liquid phones only.

to install, use your favourite root-filebrowser or command line interface to push the bootanimation.zip to /system/media/bootanimation.zip

don't open the zip!

i'm sure there's better bootanimations available, but i just had to make a bootanimation for the liquid with this water drop idea.

EDIT: made a slightly modified version.

removed the background, blurred and darkened the ripple a bit to match the black background, and the animation now stops with "ACER" visible, instead of the text fading out so it looks like the 1st screen you see when booting your phone.

i like the simpler look myself.

root explorer, and es file explorer should both work as long as you're rooted(you may need to enable root features in es file explorer)

it wouldn't work as first part of a 2 part bootanimation, at least not on the rom i'm using(phh's froyo)

my phone is usually done booting by the time the animation completes it's 1st "cycle" and is about to restart the animation.
