radio phone part

hey guys

need your help... i was flashing my omnia and it stopped at 70% of the radio part :P

now every time i try to update guives me 'port create error' on vista or xp with grand prix 1.8

with grand prix 1.9 i can with sucsess flash all parts in xp but the phone is always offline

i have read many tutorials and many persons had this problem!!

The phone when flashing should ask for the modem drivers, but it never does... i have formated my pc 3 times

a ) With XP, I had NEVER a flashing problem, for rom or phone part.

b ) If you successfully flashed with GrandPrix... so, keep flashing with it!

i've tryed at least 20 times, with different roms, custom and original

so i will keep trying, the problem is that the phone doesn't enter in the 'com' mode when flashing the radio... f***

Jesus, mates. I'm reading sooooo many problems about failed flashing... and I can't understand why. It's soooo simple, if you follow the steps EXACTLY!

Okay, now this seems silly :D , but it is very real :) ..... I've been flashing since 2008 and even with my Omnia II, but yesterday I couldn't succesfully flash back to DXID1 from PUJA1.....My phone was draining its batteries fast and I felt I should change the radio back to DXID1 which was quite conservative, now i'm just with bluetooth and wifi, phone is always off and can not start.

So, this problem is real :D ....uninstalling, restalling and restarting laptop on win 7 and another using win xp does not solve this problem either ......I'm seriously confused, but not panicky...its really crazy as Ocks latest Rom is really fantastic :) .

Now, my question to who started the thread is ....Have u sorted this out yet? If so, pls how did u do it?

Its crazy, its really intense......Flashing looks very simple and it is sometimes annoying when I see people complaining about failed flashes as well.

..good news is your phone could boot into os.. all parts working except phone radio are always off...

now let diagnose the problem shall we..

a. 'The laptop fails to start or open the COM to download the phone part.'

- driver related issue (antivirus or sometime after windows update /hardware driver update, etc) ..reinstall driver.

b. 'but it flashes csc, pda etc Using Grandprix for Vista'

- some components/files in phonepart.exe is corrupt. (*obviously when using grandprix part of '.exe' are extracted first using executor, the core file for phone is actually '.bin')

:) hmmm...

1. persuade method: :P

a. turn off and turn on it again (to completely refresh and resetting the phone), then try use tools such SKtools (preferred this for it multi tweak ability)

or 'favourite hackings'/'advance config' to setting the phone (of course.. in thier hardware or network setting tab )

2. OEM method : start all over again. Clean Setup

a. reinstall all driver (remember your first time flashing?) :D

b. that one u'r using is crap.. (some are missing in action during download/extract proces :D ) redownload the file again or try the file from different source

c. make sure the battery IS FULLY CHARGE and not running some harsh antivirus / network activity..

d. ok do your flashing stuff.. with some style (but i always prefer quiet :D )

anything else report back bro... we got lots of pro to help us here in modaco
