Hey fibble, sorry if already answered but I wonder if there is different app for the contacts, cause the one in 2.2 screwed up my contacts.

I wrote a message to my brother but it gave me different name and picture.

I checked the contacts later and it seemed that all contacts have been messed up.

Tnx and sorry again if already answered.

Sorry there isn't any alternative. How did you backup and restore your contacts?

I haven't done anything but maybe android always hardcodes MACs? Did everyone get the same MAC in 2.1?

If I remember right the WiFi did work before awext was added to the rom apart from the speed and mac address not showing. I'm wondering if removing awext and replacing drive_wext.c with the newer file would work better? I did notice that the file in the AOSP you pulled was last updated in March.

I was about to suggest it might be awext hardcoding it.

I've just fastbooted Froyo test 0.40 which was before you added awext and the mac is the same incorrect one. 00-18-82-82-20-01

Found the MAC address that is being used. It's contained in caldata.bin.ar6002 and caldata.bin.ar6102 files in /system/wifi/

OK after a load of messing about it seems that this is a plain issue between the ar6000.ko module and Froyo. There is a newer version in the U8150 ROM but this doesn't load. I'm not sure how to get full trace so I can see why it's failing as logcat only says "Failed to load" which isn't helpful.

Is strange but not really anything to worry about. Most likely the wipe didnt wipe anything. What did you use to wipe?

A wprkarpund is to flash userdata.img from Tom's package, sometimes wipe wasnt enough for me too.

Do I have to flash using Clockworkmod Recovery? Why can't I use amonra?

You can use amonra if you really want to but it's old and no longer supported. Clockworkmod is much more user friendly due to the Rommanager app.

Okay, I thought that would be my problem. My problem is that Wifi and 3G don't work on FLB-Mod 2. When flashing back to 1.6a it works perfectly. I'll try to find userdata.img from Tom's package (as suggested above) this afternoon. For now I'm back at FLB-Mod 1.6a

For 3G to work you need to set your APN settings, and Wifi works with no issues, check your router settings if you are using MAC filtering that could be the problem as for an unknown reason our alpha froyo kernel changes the Pulse MAC address.

Oh we know the reason. Just need to stop it happening and get the driver to read the mac address from teh phone.

Man, you simply are awesome. Keep up dissecting the kernel and putting both Huawei and T-MO at shame!

Have you heard any news from koush regarding CM recovery? He isn't responding to my nagging...

Yesterday i had problems with 2 navigation apps. Navdroyd and Navigon. They won't start. So i deleted navdroyd from my phone. Then i wanted to reinstall from market. The instllation fails. Also with "Zilch free" the update from market failed. With other apps there were no problems installing or updating.

Can check one out the thing with Navdroyd or Navigon? Thanks!

usb connection to computer seems to be hit and miss; do we need install android 2.2 drivers - are there any about?

I assume that you mean the mass storage feature. turn swap off (I prefer via swapper2) before you activate it.

(at last that worked for me  )

Somehow A2SD doesn't work here. Everytime i install an app from market the phone memory goes down.

I did a A2SD check. It says that A2SD is running.

[ ] GetProp Command = /system/bin/toolbox getprop

[ ] SetProp Command = /system/bin/toolbox setprop

[ ] Mount Point = /sd-ext

[ ] Starting Apps2SD Check Program.

[ ] Searching for Mount Point...

[*] Mount point /sd-ext located.

[ ] Checking for ext partition

[ ] /system/bin/sysinit not found in init.rc

[ ] Starting Darktremor Apps2SD in zipalign mode

[ ] Creating ZipAlign flag file.

[ ] Setting File System Ready property to 1.

It says that sysinit is not found in init.rc. What does it mean?

I can't find init.rc in the ROM.
